Enthusiasm for President Roosevelt’s “great personality and his outstanding human qualities” was expressed here today by the Chief Rabbi, Dr. Isaac Herzog, upon his return from the United States to Palestine after a seven months absence. The Chief Rabbi, who was given a stirring reception in Rehoboth praised American Jewry for “its warm heart in responding to the plight of world Jewry”. The Jews of America never forget Eretz Israel, Dr. Herzog added.
Representatives of the Jewish Agency, Vaad Leumi, the Jewish communities of Palestine, and of hundreds of Yeshivoth and other and other institutions of learning participated in the welcome home. A second reception was held in Motza, oldest Jewish settlement in the hills of Judea.
