Nazis Report Execution of Large Number of Jews in Yugoslavia

German newspapers reaching here today report that “a large number of Jews” were shot in Yugoslavia “as a result of a sabotage attempt near the town of Veljevo.”

The execution of a Jew and a Pole in Koenigsburg is reported in the Koenigsberger Allgemeine Zeitung. The Jew and Pole were sentenced to death by a court martial for the alleged shooting of a German customs officer.

A report from Bulgaria says that the Nazis plan to take Yugoslav and Bulgarian Jews from concentration camps for forced labor on the projected extension of railroad lines in Bulgaria and Yugoslavia.
