Relations between Jewish and non-Jewish officers in the Polish army are definitely improving, it was stated here today by Major Melcer, chief Jewish chaplain in the Polish army and Chaplain Captain Klepfisz. Both of them arrived here from Scotland several days ago to arrange for High Holiday Services for the Jewish soldiers stationed with the Polish forces there.

Marked improvement in the attitude of non-Jewish Polish officers was noted after General Sikorski, Polish premier, had addressed Polish troops in Scotland, denouncing any attempts to introduce politics into the army, the two Jewish chaplains, who are returning there today, reported.

While in London they made arrangements with the Jewish Board of Deputies and other Jewish organizations to cover the costs of travelling and maintenance for the Polish Jewish soldiers who will be collected in the one place in Scotland available for holding the holiday services.
