The Soviet Ambassador in London today cabled to his government in Moscow a list of Polish rabbis, asking that they be released from internment as provided by the Russo-Polish agreement, and also that they be granted exit visas to proceed to overseas lands.
The list includes the famous wonder-rabbis of Belz, Bobow and Alexander, as well as Rabbi Aaron Lewin, ex-member of Polish parliament and other prominent rabbis. No news has been received here about the whereabouts of Jacob Trokenheim, Jewish orthodox member of the Polish senate and Leib Minzberg, leader of Agudas Israel in Poland.
Expecting the release of Chief Rabbi Schorf of Warsaw from Russian internment, Dr. Ignacy Schwarabart, representative of Polish Jewry in the Polish National Council in London, has cabled greetings to the Chief Rabbi in care of the Polish embassy in Moscow. The message will be delivered to Rabbi Schorr upon his release.
