The Jews of Britain, through the Board of Deputies of British Jews, today welcomed the message of the Moscow Jewish meeting calling the Jews of the world to fight Hitlerism.

Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the Board of Deputies, at today’s meeting of the Board read the following text:

“Jews of Great Britain warmly reciprocate the message sent from Moscow by the great Jewish rally attended by prominent Jewish representatives and famous writers and scientists of the Soviet Union. In common with all our fellow citizens of the United Kingdom and the Empire we welcome our new and valiant ally in the war for freedom, justice and security for all men. The whole world stands in admiration at the great fight being waged by the Soviet armies against the most terrible war machine the world has ever known. This fight evokes the respect and hopes of all free people and all those struggling to be free.

“In countries enslaved by the Nazis and Fascists Jews were their first victims and they continue to be the special object of their brutality. In the struggle against barbarism the Jewish community of this country as indeed Jews of all freedom-loving countries are greatly encouraged by the fact that the Jewish population of the Soviet Union together with their follow citizens are wholeheartedly joined in this struggle.”
