The German short wave radio at Zeesen today reported that deportation of Jews from all Slovakian towns will be started immediately. More than 10,000 Jews will be ousted from the Slovakian capital, Bratislava, and those remaining there will be confined in a ghetto.
The Slovak authorities plan to set up 14 residential areas for Jews and organize Jewish labor camps, the Nazi broadcast added, disclosing that three such camps already exist. The Slovak report follows closely on the heels of an announcement that Jews will be ousted from all the towns of the Czech Protectorate.
At the same time the Bratislava radio reported that 221 Jewish enterprises will be liquidated during October, bringing to 9,396 the number of Jewish enterprises liquidated since the anti-Jewish laws were introduced in Slovakia.
