The Jewish Labor Committee today announced a campaign to raise $500,000 in the United States for relief for Jewish war victims in Soviet Russia. The campaign is supported by Jewish labor organizations and prominent leaders of the Jewish Labor movement in America.

A report released by the Committee on its activities emphasizes that through the efforts of the Committee more than 700 political refugees, the majority of them Jews, have been enabled to reach the United States, after escaping from Germany or Nazi-occupied territories.

The report also deals with the precarious position of the 15,000 Jewish refugees stranded in Shanghai. Hunger among them has reached such a point that many women are compelled to resort to prostitution, the report states.
