Emphasizing that the older generation of Germans continues to display sympathy with Jews in the city of Stuttgart, the Stuttgarter Zeitung publishes an article demanding complete segregation of the Jews and stricter measures against “Aryans” still maintaining relations with former Jewish neighbors.
The Nazi paper reports that a German woman was overheard in the street saying to a Jew that “it requires more courage to carry a yellow badge than to fight on the front line.” It also relates incidents of how Germans of the older generation are publicly shaking hands with Jews as an expression of sympathy with the latter. It similarly complains that in the street cars one can still see “Aryans” vacate their seats for Jewish women.
