American and Canadian Jews were urged today to make contributions to the newly-established Jewish Legion Service Fund which is to provide cigarettes, books and other comforts to the 10,000 Palestinian Jews serving with the British forces in the Middle East.

An appeal issued by F. Wolofsky, treasurer of the Fund and by Leon Cheifetz, secretary, says that the Fund is registered in Montreal under the Canadian War Charities Act and is sponsored by veterans of the Jewish Battalions who saw service in Palestine during the first World War. “The support of the general public will be heartily appreciated,” the appeal says.
