A “calendar of Hungarian Life for 1942” published in the Nazi newspaper, Donau Zeitung, which reached here today, estimates that 8,093 Jewish-owned estates, each exceeding 100 in value, will be confiscated by the Hungarian government during the coming year.

Meanwhile, reporting on new political developments in Hungary, the Budapest correspondent of the Neue Zuricher Zeitung writes today that under a new law reconstituting the municipal councils, persons falling under the Jewish laws have been ousted and their places taken by the next highest on the lists. In Budapest 24 Jewish delegates have already been removed as have 15 in Szeged and 12 in Miskolc.
