The Jewish problem in Slovakia can be considered as practically solved, August Moravek, the head of the Central Economic Office in Slovakia declared today in a broadcast over the Bratislava radio summarizing the extent to which Jewish property in his country has been confiscated or taken over by “Aryans.”

Boasting of the fact that “all this has been performed within one year and without any upheaval in Slovakia’s economic life,” the official reported that Jewish property in Slovakia amounted to 3,950,000,000 crowns. Of this sum, he said, more than 250,000,000,000 crowns have been blocked by the authorities. Through various decrees issued during 1941 the Jewish property problem was “solved” by having this property pass into non-Jewish hands, he added, estimating that 12,300 Jewish business enterprises which employed 13,000 Jews as well as 6,000 Jewish buildings came into the possession of “Aryans” as a result of the decrees.
