Jewish Religious Activities in Warsaw Ghetto Growing Despite Nazi Persecution

Jewish religious activities in the Warsaw ghetto have been growing despite Nazi restrictions and oppression, it was disclosed today in information received by the Agudas Israel here from orthodox leaders in Poland.

The remaining synagogues in Warsaw are crowded, the report states. The Beth Jacob orthodox schools for girls are still functioning in all sections of the ghetto, and several thousand Jewish girls are attending. The orthodox teachers training college has a long waiting list of applicants. The Rabbinate is functioning in the ghetto and recently a conference was held to discuss future orthodox activities in Poland.
