The refusal of the Palestine censor to allow the publication in Jewish papers there of news of the parades, meetings and rallies held in Palestine to induce Jewish youth to volunteer in the British forces, is being investigated by the Colonial Office, it was disclosed today in the House of Commons by George Hall, Under-Secretary for Colonies.
Replying to a question on Palestine censorship voiced by Daniel Lipson, Independent Conservative M.P., Hall stated that Lord Moyae, the Colonial Secretary, had asked Sir Harold MacMichael, High Commissioner for Palestine, to report as to why the censor had forbidden publication of the stories on Jewish recruiting. MacMichael’s reply, however, is not yet available, Hall stated.
