Ninety-four Jewish refugees from Cyprus, the first Jewish evacuees from the Middle Eastern theatre of war, arrived in Nyasseland today.

Another contingent of the 500 refugees evacuated from Cyprus is expected to arrive soon in Tanganyika. All of these refugees will stay in their South African havens for the duration of the war. The group which reached Nyassaland today originally numbered 118 but 24 were left in Palestine because they were too ill to make the journey.
