A commission to arrange for the erection in Chicago of a statue to the late Henry Horner, former Jewish governor of Illinois, was named here today by Governor Dwight Green. The Illinois legislature has already appropriated $25,000 for the monument.
Members of the Commission are Carl Sandburg, the poet and historian; United States Senator Scott Lucas, Illinois Secretary of State Edward Hughes, Oliver Barrett, president of the State Library Board, Lloyd Louis, historian and author who will serve as chairman of the group and Paul Angle, librarian of the State historical board who will act as secretary to the Commission.
