Funeral of Dr. Schanfarber, Prominent Rabbi, to Be Held in Chicago Tuesday

Funeral services will be held here on Tuesday for Rabbi Tobias Schanfarber, rabbi emeritus of the Temple Kehilath Anshe Mayriv here, who died in Miami this week at the age of 79. Coming to Chicago forty-four years ago Rabbi Schanfarber was invited by Dr. Emil Hirsch to be co-editor of the Reform Advocate. Later he became editor of the Chicago Israelite and Sentinel. Born in Cleveland, Rabbi Schanfarber was graduated from the University of Cincinnati and the Hebrew Union College. He served congregations in Mobile, Toledo, Fort Wayne and Baltimore.
