Declaring that although the people of Palestine were willing to sacrifice their own food to permit the entry of the Strume refugees, the Palestine government remained adamant in its refusal. N. Kirschner, chairman of the executive committee of the Zionist Federation of South Africa, stated today that this “latest wrong drives us to secure a world position for ourselves.”
Mr. Kirschner spoke at a meeting held here to commemorate the memory of the Strume dead. A resolution protesting the policy of the Palestine administration was adopted at the memorial.
