Owners of mills in Slovakia were ordered today by the central authorities in Bratislava to dismiss all their Jewish employees within a period of one month, irrespective of whether or not they have labor permits.
Information from Slovakia reaching here today also reveals that raids on Jewish homes continue unabated throughout the country. In Nitra approximately 600 Jews, including women, were taken from their beds and deported to labor camps. In order to prevent Jews from selling their belongings to Slovaks prior to their deportation, the Slovakian Minister of Interior issued an order forbidding non-Jews to buy anything from ?Jew or to accept any presents from Jews without special permission from the Slovak Central Economic Office. Articles secured from Jews prior to the issuance of this order are to be surrendered to the local police stations within three days.
