Jews employed in various commercial and industrial enterprises in Latvia are prohibited from receiving their wages directly from their employers but must secure them through the German district commissioner, it is reported in the Deutsche Zeitung in Ostland, Nazi organ for the Baltic area, reaching here today.
Employers of Jews must turn all salaries over to the District Commissioner’s Fund. The rate of pay is based on fixed rates established under a general order covering workers in public service and trades. Jews may not be paid extra for overtime, Sunday, holiday or night work, unless special permission is granted by the local Labor Service office.
