Fund to Acquire Dispersed Jewish Art Established in Palestine

A special fund to acquire articles of Jewish art now dispersed all over the world has been established by a number of Jewish institutions and individuals, it was announced here today by Mordechai Narkiss, director of the Bezalel Art Museum on the occasion of the opening of an exhibition commemorating the tenth anniversary of the death of Prof. Boris Schatz, artist and founder of the Bezalel art school in Palestine.

The fund will be known as “The Boris Schatz Fund” in honor of Prof. Schatz who died in Denver, Colorado, during a visit to the United States in 1932. The articles will be placed in the Bezalel Museum. The exhibition now on view at the Museum is devoted to the works of art produced by the late professor Schatz which are esteemed highly by Jews all over the world.
