An appeal to the Jews of Canada to abstain from holding weddings or other parties in hotels for the duration of the war, was issued here today in behalf of the Canadian Jewish Congress and the B’nai B’rith.

The appeal points out that “this is not the time for exaggerated celebrations” which provoke unfounded charges against the Jews of Canada. It advises that “all weddings be celebrated modestly in the synagogue buildings and all private parties be held in private homes only.”
