The Nazi-controlled Luxemburg radio today claimed that the recent restrictions on shipping in Palestine waters are the result of German U-boat activity, specifically an attack on the Jaffa power plant.
The restrictions referred to by the Luxemburg radio prohibit any ship from approaching closer than two kilometres of the Palestine coast at night and three kilometres during the day without first pausing for inspection by the coastal patrol.
The Palestine government has never announced that the Jaffa electric works had been shelled, although last month it released a report that an unidentified enemy vessel had shelled an undisclosed point on the coast without doing any damage.
