The Slovakian Government has initiated negotiations with the Hungarian authorities concerning real estate, stock and bank deposits of Hungarian Jews which have been confiscated in Slovakia, the pro-German Prague daily Neue Tag reports today.
It is probable that this property, the total value of which is estimated at fifty to sixty million kronen (approximately $2,000,000) will be turned over to Hungarian “Aryans” residing in Slovakia, with the exception of land holdings which it is expected will be retained by the Slovakian land office.
The Bucharest radio heard here today announced that Jews have been forbidden to enter cafes in the Rumanian town of Galatz. Persons violating the order will be liable to six months’ imprisonment in a concentration camp. The broadcaster stated that the ban will soon be extended to other towns.
