Declaring that he hesitated to vote yesterday for the budget of the Polish National Council since he is dissatisfied with the policy of the Polish Government-in-Exile with regard to certain aspects concerning Polish Jewry, Dr. Ignacy Schwartzbart, Jewish member of the Council, in a statement today revealed that he is “especially opposed to the attitude of the Polish Ministry of Information towards the Jewish problem.”
“During the debate on the budget at the Polish National Council, I openly expressed my complaints and asked for the modification of the policies of certain ministries. I finally voted for the budget only because this was primarily a war budget presented in a critical and historic time for Poland in her struggle for independence. I voted in the hope that my demands will be fulfilled,” Dr. Schwartzbart said.
