The Nazis will carry out a “mass-extermination of Jews” in reprisal for the bombing of German cities by the air force of the United Nations, the Berlin radio announced tonight, quoting an article written by Goebbels, the Nazi Minister of Propaganda.

In his article, published in Das Reich, Goebbels states that not only will the Jews of Europe be exterminated, but “even those beyond Europe” in retaliation for the heavy bombing of German cities.

Acknowledging that “the German population is suffering bitterly from the air raids,” Goebbels writes that it was the Jews who incited England and America to bomb the German cities. His threat of “mass-extermination of Jews” was taken here to indicate that the Nazis are especially jittery over the reports that Berlin will soon be heavily bombed by a mixed British-American air force.
