A total of $86,000 has been raised for the United Palestine Appeal in this city during the current drive which has just concluded, it was announced here today at a reception in honor of the campaign workers. This figure marked a new “high” in UPA collections here, being thirty percent above last year’s figure.

Mr. A.T. Freiman, president of the Canadian Zionist Organization, in congratulating the audience upon the results achieved, spoke of the unity that characterized Canadian Zionism and the growing strength of the movement throughout the country. Mr. Phineas Horowitz, vice-president of the English Zionist Federation, also felicitated the campaign workers upon their achievement. The United Nations are becoming increasingly conscious of the urgent need for finding a solution of the Jewish problem in the coming World Peace and of the part that Palestine must play in that solution, he said.
