The first Algerian Jew to be sentenced for violation of Vichy’s anti-Jewish laws, which are in effect in the colony, has been banished to the Southern Algerian Desert, it is reported in the Le Petit Marocain, reaching here today.
The Jew, Alfred Douleb was charged with obstructing “aryanization” of his house and property. His banishment is for an indefinite period.
