New regulations designed to further harass Berlin Jews are reported today in the Swedish press. The latest anti-Jewish measures prohibit Jews to leisurely stroll along streets, bars them from stopping to speak to other Jews they may meet or pausing to look into shop windows. They are forbidden to carry canes and may not walk more than two abreast. All Jews in the streets must proceed at a rapid pace indicating that they are on a definite errand.
Special police squads have been assigned to enforcing the new restrictions, and to see to it that the Jews walk rapidly. These police even stop crippled Jews walking with the aid of canes and crutches, and force them to prove that they are truly lame and not merely pretending in order to circumvent the new orders.
