Miss Blackman, Well-known Jewish Social Worker, Dies in New York

Miss Elinor Blackman, for 22 years the Assistant Executive Director of the Jewish Social Service Association, the family welfare agency of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies of New York City, died today at her home in Brooklyn, after an illness of several months.

Miss Blackman was a member of the American Association of Social Workers and the Family Welfare Association of America. She was active in the affairs of the Welfare Council of New York and was the chairman of its Selective Service Committee. She was for ten years Chairman of the Board of the Social Work Vocational Bureau, an employment bureau for professional social workers.
