In line with similar action in other cities, the Cincinnati Jewish Community Council has voted unanimously to carry its Jewish Welfare Fund into the Hamilton County War Chest for the latter’s February 1943 campaign, it was announced today.
By this agreement, the Jewish Welfare Fund will receive about $330,000 the equivalent of the Fund’s total last year, less some $50,000 obtained for national and local civic defense activities. The merger is a war time emergency action.
President Herbert R. Bloch of the Council, William J. Shroder and Jeffrey L. Lazarus explained to the Council the “pros” and “cons” of the action. They are members of the War Chest Executive Committee.
