Polish Jewish Refugees in Calcutta Lack Food and Proper Housing, Report Charges

Additional information concerning the situation of Polish Jewish refugees in India reached the office of the Polish Jewish Refugee Fund here today.

A report from the former representative of the Fund in Lithuania, who is now in Calcutta, described the conditions of the refugees there as extremely grave. There is no organized relief, he states, and many of the refugees are forced to sleep on the bare floor. No provision is being made to feed them, he charges, criticizing the lack of interest displayed by the Calcutta Jewish community.
