The procedure for the naturalization of citizens has been speeded up in recent weeks to encourage 3,000,000 eligible aliens to take advantage of this privilege, Sylvester Pindyok, supervisor of the special inspection unit of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, told the national board of directors of the American Committee for the Protection of Foreign Born, meeting in the Hotel Biltmore yesterday.

Explaining that the number of examiners in this branch of the service has been increased 60 percent since the beginning of the year, Mr. Pindyok declared that the records showed that applicants of last March were now being called for examination. “This means that the waiting period has been reduced by approximately eleven months,” he stated.
