The publication of the first two units of the projected work “Jewish Post-War Problems -A Study Course,” prepared by the staff of the Research Institute on Peace and Post-War Problems of the American Jewish Committee, was announced today by Max Gottschalk, director of the Institute. The two units published in pamphlet form, deal with the subjects “Why Study Post-War Problems?” and “The Two World Wars-A Comparison and Contrast.”
In addition to the complete coverage of the topics in the form of lectures, all units contain selected readings, consisting of statements and articles by outstanding authorities. Among the authors represented in the first two units are President Roosevelt, Vice President Wallace, Prof. Morris R. Cohen, Prof. S. W. Baron and Prof, L. B. Namier. The course is a cooperative undertaking by the staff of the Research Institute under the editorship of Abraham G. Dukor, assisted by Rabbi Michael Alper. The six remaining units of the Study Course will be published at frequent intervals.
The Study Course was prepared in the interest of making a contribution towards the education of the community on the very important issue of the place of Jews in the post-war world. According to Dr. Gottschalk, the many requests for copies from national and local organization of all types prove the wide interest of the community in serious adult education projects, if presented in popular form.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
