Noted Educators Named to Advisory Committee of B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundations

Nine of the outstanding Jewish educators in the United States have accepted membership on a national advisory committee on education to assist in shaping the national policies of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundations and Counselorships and the Aleph Zadik Aleph, B’nai B’rith youth organization, Henry Monsky, president of B’nai B’rith, announced today in making public the names of the committee members, who have accepted his invitation to serve.

They are: Dr. Leo L. Honor, executive director of the Board of Jewish Education of Chicago; Dr. Alexander M. Dushkin, executive director of the Jewish Education Committee of New York; Dr. Emanuel Gamoran, educational director of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations; Ben Rosen, director of the Associated Talmud Torahs of Philadelphia; Israel S. Chipkin, associate director of the Jewish Education Committee of New York; Rabbi Samuel M. Blumenfield, director of the College of Jewish Studies of Chicago Dr. Philip L. Seman, director of the Jewish People’s Institute of Chicago; Dr. Louis L. Kaplan, director of the Board of Jewish Education of Baltimore; and Dr. Ben M. Edidin of the Jewish Education Committee of New York.

The Hillel Foundations and Counselorships operate on 76 college and university campuses where they serve 35,000 Jewish students. The Aleph Zadik Aleph has a membership of 12,000 in 484 chapters in 279 different communities.
