The Transocean, Nazi news agency, today reported that Cardinal Suhard, archbishop of Paris, conferred at Vichy during the week-end with Marshal Petain and Premier Laval, discussing with them “certain measures decreed against Jews,” to which the Catholic Church in France is opposed.

The same agency reported today that German authorities in the Nazi-occupied part of France have issued an order forbidding Jews in Paris to enter any food store, except between 11 A.M. and noon, which is the busiest shopping hour.
