League of Nation’s Union Cannot Agree on Post-war Solution of Jewish Problem

A discussion on post-war Jewish problems which was on the agenda of the annual meeting of the General Council of the League of Nation’s Union which is now taking place here has been “postponed indefinitely,” it was announced today by the chairman of the Council.

the postponement, it was explained, is due to the “diametrically opposing views” which have developed among the members of the sub-committee which is reported to be making “a careful study of the problems.” As a result of the disagreement prevailing in the sub-committee with regard to the suggested solution of the Jewish question after the war, the members of the sub-committee will continue their study of the issue and bring their report to the next meeting of the General Council if they reach an agreement by that time. The disagreement in the ranks of the sub-committee was stated today to center around the argument advanced by some of the members that the Jewish problems need no international action for their solution. These members favor local Jewish assimilation among other peoples.
