About 800 delegates from Jewish communities throughout the nation will gather here tomorrow at the “Land for Freedom” conference of the Jewish National Fund at the Book-Cadillac Hotel. Representatives of all Zionist parties and groups and a special delegate from the B’nai B’rith will participate in the two-day meeting. Senator Alben Barkley will deliver the principal address at the closing session on Sunday when Dr. Israel Goldstoin,J.N.F. president, will be tendered a banquet.
In honor of the conference, Mayor Edward J. Jeffries has proclaimed a “Palestine Sabbath.” In his proclamation Mayor Jeffries calls “the Jewish National Fund one more weapon in the fight against the aggressors in the Near East.”
