Bucharest Jews Threatened with Jail, Fines for “shirking” Snow Shovelling

The Bucharest Jewish community has been threatened with a heavy fine for the alleged inefficiency of Jews set to forced labor clearing the streets of the city of snow, it is reported in the Bucharest daily, Timpul, which was received here today. The mayor of the city, Gen. Reskanau voiced this warning, the newspaper states, adding that Jews “guilty of shirking will be sent to concentration camps and will be fined.”
