Two More Jewish Officers in Red Army Raised to Rank of General

The promotion of two more Jewish officers in the Red Army to the rank of General in recognition of their achievements at the front, was reported today in the Soviet press. They are Lieut.-Colonel Maxim Reiter and Lieut.-Colonel Aerch Karponsov who have been raised to the rank of Lieut.-General, Last week the Council of Peoples Commissars announced the appointment of four other Jewish generals.

The press today also carries a list of Jewish officers who have been decorated for gallantry. The Order of the Red Banner has been given to Lieut.-Colonel Yuchin Novikov, Major Shaie Kaulman and Battalion Commissar Moshe Konievsky. The Order of the Red Star was awarded to Surgeon Shavle Buchman.
