The “profound gratitude of South American Jews” for the “generous and sympathetic policy in favor of the victims of Nazi racial persecution” displayed by Dr. Alberto Guani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice-President-elect of Uruguay, was voiced by Ezra Teubal, Argentine industrialist and Jewish leader, at a reception for Dr. Guani at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel here. Mr. Teubal said that “Dr. Guani contributed as far as possible to opening the doors of America to the victims of a persecution, the monstrosity of which I need not emphasize here.”
