J.D.C. Sends Permanent Representative to South American Countries

Louis H. Sobel, a member of the overseas staff of the Joint Distribution Committee, today left for South America to act as permanent representative of the Jewish refugees in various Latin American countries.

“Mr. Sobel’s task will be to bring about in all South American countries a greater degree of participation by local Jewish communities in refugee aid activities.” Joseph C. Hyman, executive vice-chairman of the JDC, declared.
