An appeal to the United Nations “to remove part of the burden from Russia” was issued by the Histadruth conference at its concluding session here today.

The conference of the Jewish Federation of Labor also sent greetings to the Red Army, to the British Eighth Army in Africa and to the Jewish units fighting at the front as part of the British armed forces. It also adopted a resolution appealing to the labor movements throughout the world to urge their governments to take effective steps to save the Jews from Nazi extermination.

The resolutions dealing with Palestine problems emphasized that the Palestine Jewish workers will continue their contributions to the war effort by working nights and in places remote from their homes in order to provide the needed supplies to the armed forces. At the same time, they stressed that the Histadruth will continue to fight the present labor legislation of the Palestine administration. The Palestine Government was requested in one of the resolutions to effectively combat the high cost of living and to stabilize the prices of food and other commodities in proportion to the present wage level.
