The story behind Gen. Giraud’s abrogation of the Cremieux Decree is revealed by Hannah Arendt, a student of French politics, in the current issue of the Jewish Contemporary Record, monthly magazine published by the American Jewish Committee.
The current issue of the publication, which made its appearance today, also carries articles on Zionist policy by Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, and by Dr. J.L. Magnes, president of the Hebrew University and proponent of the Ichud movement which advocates the establishment of Palestine as a bi-national state.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
