The New Zionist Organization today issued a declaration announcing that “unity between the two Zionist organizations could be brought closer than ever before” if David Ben-Gurion, leader of the Histadruth, would make clear whether his recent speeches as well as his article of last week in the Palestine newspaper Hatzofeh can be regarded as his acceptance of the Revisionist slogan, “a Jewish State on both sides of the Jordan.”
“Such a statement would lead not only to unity between the NZO and the Zionist Organization, but would also make possible the waging of a unified Zionist political offensive,” the declaration of the New Zionist Organization read.
The London Economist, leading British weekly newspaper devoted to economic problems in the British Empire, carries an article from Palestine highly lauding the development of the Jewish labor unions in the country. This development, the article stresses, has resulted in the upbuilding of a model system of relations between the workers and the employers. The writer points out that while the Palestine Jewish workers are well organized, Arab labor has lagged in organization and is still working under primitive conditions and at low wages. The article criticizes the Palestine Government for accepting the Arab standard as the basis for wages on public works.
