A delegation representing the American Zionist Emergency Council today visited the British Embassy and presented a memorandum protesting against the manner in which the recent “arms trials” in Palestine were conducted. The delegation was composed of Dr. Israel Goldstein, Mrs. Rose Halpern and Hayim Greenberg.
Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, chairman of the American Zionist Emergency Council, today called upon Henrik de Kauffmann, Danish Minister-in-Exile, and expressed the “gratitude and admiration of the Jewish people for the magnificent way in which the people of Denmark and the King have reacted to the Nazi brutalities against the Jewish citizens of Denmark.” The Minister informed Dr. Silver that 6,000 persons have already escaped from Denmark into Sweden and that ninety percent are Jews.
