Prof. Hermann Struck, famous Jewish painter, died here last night, at the age of 68. His funeral was held today without any eulogies, in accordance with his last wishes.
Prof. Struck was an orthodox Jew and served as a member of the World Mizrachi Central Committee. He was a member of the London Royal Society of painters, Etchers and Engravers. Born in Berlin, he studied art in the Berlin Academy and later traveled through many countries, drawing, etching, and painting landscapes. An etching of P. rabbi, bought by the Berlin Museum, first brought struck’s work to the attention of the public. After lengthy sojourns in Palestine, where he became an active Zionist, he finally made his permanent home on Mt. Garmel in Haifa.
