MONTREAL (Feb. 3)
The national convention of Canadian Hadassah closed today with the reelection of Mrs. A. Raginsky, of Montreal, as national president. The session heard reports of the varied achievements of Canadian Hadassah including an increased membership of over 9,000, enrolled in 203 active chapters in 68 cities, towns and villages across the country. It ratified all the resolutions adopted by the 27th convention of the Zionist Organization of Canada this week.
Canadian Hadassah, it was reported, set a new record in war services. A thirty-bed hospital ward has been equipped in the Canadian Red Cross Hospital in England; a recreation hostel has been built for the Palestine Auxiliary Territorial Service; and ambulances and fully equipped mobile canteens have been donated for use in England and Palestine. During the last three years Canadian Hadassah raised over $750,000 for the following projects and funds; Moza Convalescent Home; Agricultural School in Nahalal; Baby Creche in Jerusalem; Youth Aliyah War Services Fund; United Palestine Appeal and Jewish national Fund.
