An appeal to the Jews of America to give moral support to Gen. De Gaulle and the French Committee of National Liberation in North Africa was made here last night by Henri Torres, noted French-Jewish lawyer who actively participated in the fight for the restoration of the Cremiaux Decrae, at a dinner tendered him by the world Jewish Congress prior to his departure for Algeria.

Mr. Torres was asked to urge the French Committee of National Liberation to establish a War Refugee Board similar to that established by President Roosevelt, to speed the rescue of Jews and other people oppressed by the Nazis. He is the chairman of the French-Jewish Representative Committee of the world Jewish Congress.
