The first 36 trees of a forest of 25,000 that will be planted in honor of Rabbi Meir Berlin, Mizrachi leader, and which will be known as “Year Meir,” were planted yesterday at the settlement of Kfar Etzion, which is between Hebron and Jerusalem. Funds for the forest were raised among members of the Mizrachi in Palestine and the United States. The settlement of Kfar Etzion, which was twice destroyed in the past 20 years, was taken over by the Jewish National Fund last year and is being farmed by members of the Poale Mizrachi.
