The Czechoslovak Government today broadcast a warning that mistreatment of Jews in Hungarian-occupied sectors of Czechoslovakie would be “mercilessly punished.” The warning was prompted by reports that tens of thousands of Jews have been expelled from their homes in the Carpathian regions of Mukacevo and Uzhorod and committed to concentration camps. The broadcast said that confiscation of Jewish property and the imprisonment and murder of Jewish citizens would be punishable just as mercilessly as all other crimes committed by invaders or traitors.
